as you can see, if you’re a regular, we have a little addition to the site here. in the top right corner you can see “countdown to ‘the day’.” for those of you who don’t stalk me, you may not know, but in, as of this post, 58 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes, and 25 seconds, i will be getting married. i’m excited…in case you couldn’t tell. the thing that has truly annoyed me during this time of my engagement is the complete lack of the traditional, “congradulations!” no, i seem to find only the most jaded of people to talk to. it seems like every time i tell anyone, i get “don’t do it…” and the like. i’m not sure if i’m annoyed, or just sad that the rest of the world sees marriage as a mistake. i suppose in the days of a goverment that won’t acknowledge a marriage between two people who love each other but happen to be the same sex, but they will acknowledge marriages of stupid pop stars that get them annulled 24 hours later, people see the whole institution as a sham. too bad really. i wish the rest of the world could see just what a beautiful thing marriage could be. maybe i’ll tell you about it in 58 days, 18 hours, 28 minutes, and 10 seconds. heh.
