“So I’m pretty much out of luck?” “Well, you can send it in an pay for the repairs, but at that point you might as well just buy a new iPod.” OK, so we’ve set the scene, now let’s work our way back.
about a week ago, my iPod stopped working. It gave me the “sad apple icon” which really should be called the “you’re screwed” icon. Every time I see that icon, it ends with me putting my iPod in a box, and shipping it away to California, only to get a new one back. Mind you, I’ve done that three times.
I spent the weekend in Nashville, seeing Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame (despite that fact that I dislike country so much) and taking some photos of certain interesting buildings.
It was really interesting to see Music Row. For those of you who don’t know, basically everything that made Nashville what it’s known for is contained on two streets. Being in the audio business, I’ve been in and around my fair share of studios, and Nashville is completely different than what I’ve seen.
You know all those kids in high school that smoked pot all the time, and everyone said they’d get nowhere? I think they all grew up and got careers in advertising. I give you, rap cat:
It’s 11:30 at night. My wife is in bed, so she can get up early and go to work. I sit on the couch watching episodes of “Dog Bites Man” and every part of me wants to make something. But I have no idea what. I keep thinking, “should I work on my music?” but that doesn’t seem to be it. I think about trying to make some stuff in the Half-Life 2 level designer, but its been so long since I’ve done any of that, I can’t even remember how to work the program. I try anyways. I stop quickly. Soldering! That would be perfect! I can make a switch or something! I have solder, and a soldering iron, but no materials to build anything. I swear if I had the stuff I could build a house outta match sticks. Why do I have these feelings? Why do I always wanna make stuff?
Flipping switches now, I found this awesome greasemonkey script today on Lifehacker. It’s called Inline MP3 Player, and basically, it puts a little play button by any link that points to an mp3 file. So instead of having to download the file and listen to it, you can just preview it right there. So if you’re at say, tonyandjuan.com, and you wanna listen to some of our songs, but don’t feel like downloading it, it places a little play button write next to the link. Once clicked, the song plays, the it turns into a stop button. Very cool script. The button even matches the color of the text, so it really makes it look like part of the site. In case you don’t know, you need FireFox to use this script. And if you don’t have FireFox, well then, shame on you.
