so just as i was getting the acid reflux thing under control, my evil fiancee had to give me a cold. this always happens. every time she’s sick, she gets me sick, but i get it worse. except for that one time i gave her strep throat and she was in the hospital for a week…but that one doesn’t count. so now that i finally can eat food, i can’t taste it. on the good side, i’ve lost ten pounds but id’ rather have done it some other way. i guess this will have to do.
turns out that tim burton is gonna direct a new version of charlie and the chocolate factory. apparently the first movie, “willy wonka and the chocolate factory” didn’t make the writer of the book too happy, so they’re gonna take another pass at it. latest news i’ve heard on this is that johnny depp is the hopeful for the part of willy wonka. anyone who’s seen pirates of the caribbean probably understands why i’m excited about this. and for those of you who don’t know who tim burton is, it’s the guy who directed the first batman, nightmare before christmas, edward scissorhands and sleepy hollow. so you know, creepiness abounds. yippee!
so today i went to the doctor, and i guess i have some horrible form of acid reflux in reaction to a medicine i’m taking. so now i’ve got me a prescription to nexium, the purple pill from the commercials, and hopefully i’ll be able to eat real food sometime soon. funny thing happened in the doctor’s office: after asking me a few questions, he left the room saying he was gonna talk to a g.i. doc (gastro-intestinal). about fifteen minutes later a nurse came in with a cup of water, and a cup of what literally looked like baby vomit. as soon as she walked in the room she started apologizing, like it was her fault. i asked what it was, and she said it was a “cocktail from the g.i.” and apologized again. i took it, and it wasn’t any worse than any other medicine you take, but she continued to apologize as she left the room, and even apologized again as i was leaving the office.
on a nerdier note, for those of you who happen to spend a good amount of time on the internet, and want a browser that is explorer compatible and comes with gizmos…well, avant is the browser for you. it’s pretty much identical in appearance as i.e. is, but it’s got several more taskbars that do all sorts of stuff. it can manage multiple windows, block pop-ups, eliminate pictures and flash from pages…all sorts of good stuff. hea
since friday i’ve been suffering from some sort of odd chest pain that seems to be traveling up and down my esophagus as it pleases. last night i went to the er, in hopes to get things solved, but after waiting for almost two hours, and seeing that a person ahead of me had waited for 8 and a half hours, i decided to leave. i had a class i needed to get too. so now i sit here, watching tv, drinking boost, because it’s all i can swallow without doubling over in pain. so i’ll tell you this people, be happy that you can eat. nothing is worse than seeing food that you love, and knowing you can’t eat it. maybe i’ll loose a little weight.
so i got to spend the weekend with my family in the mountains, which is always nice when you don’t get to see them for a long time. included in this little vacation was a white water rapid ride through erwin, tennessee. i learned a strange fact as we drove back home. apparently, a long time ago, the town of erwin decided to hang an elephant after it killed someone. there’s no point in even trying to summarize it, just click here and read this very odd story.
i went to a doctor today, to find out (like I didn’t already know) that i’m 20 pounds overweight, and have higher blood pressure than a 21 year old should. above is a picture of me from back when i had a jawline. a healthy hunk of sexy man meat i was. now i don’t even have a jawline. So with only a few days over a year away from the wedding, I got plenty of time to shape up and get all sexy so i can maybe at least appear as if i might, maybe deserve that lady pictured up there. here’s hoping.
